The Tesla Model 3 remains the benchmark electric sedan, and the recent refresh finally addressed the biggest criticisms of the original. Step into a current Long Range model and you will find a noticeably nicer interior, comfortable seats, ambient lighting, and a rear screen for back seat passengers.
What has not changed is what Tesla still does better than most rivals. The Supercharger network remains a major advantage for road trips, software updates arrive monthly and genuinely improve the car, and efficiency numbers stay class leading. With about 358 miles (576 km) of rated range and real-world results close to that on mixed driving, range anxiety is basically gone for most trips. Small touches like always-on camera recording while parked and a built-in trip planner that times charging stops automatically are the kind of details rivals are still catching up to.
The caveats are real but manageable. Build quality can vary, so it is worth checking the car carefully before accepting delivery. The advanced driver assistance system is impressive when it works and frustrating when it does not, so treat it as assistance, not full self driving. The yoke style steering wheel on the Performance trim is a genuinely divisive choice.
